::Went for the Bisoke hike which was around 9 km from the start to the crater lake and back with 1000m if vertical ascending. We did this at the end of the rainy season so the mid was thick and the going was extremely tough. The path is poorly maintained and there are sections where there are several parallel paths that have developed with people trying to avoid sections that are no longer possible due to erosion. The porters and guides are very helpful. I suggest that you consider the use of a porter as mandatory. With the mud and the altitude using a porter made a big difference to my enjoyment, despite me having carried my own day pack until about half way. Learn from my experience: don't be so proud or so spendthrift that you battle on by yourself when there are people who will for 10 USD carry your pack and benefit from your tourism.

::Huge dense forest space. Nice surroundings of tall trees. The Natives of this forest stay here, this forest provides them the necessary resources for their livelihood.

::Day 1 with the gorillas in the Rwanda side of the park. Pretty amazing stuff. I stopped taking pictures and enjoyed watching the family dynamics. The brothers beating on each other was too funny. Not cheap, but something for the bucket list.
